Exceptional Care At Your Comfort Level – Telemedicine at MSS

Your health and safety matters to us! While many appointments require in-person interaction, some appointments can be conducted over telemedicine, if you choose!

At Michigan Surgery Specialists, we are committed to providing the best patient care in a clean, secure and healthy environment. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our doors have remained open; implementing extra precautions to keep the virus at by and maintain a safe environment for our patients, staff and physicians.

In Hand and Orthopedic medicine, hands-on care is necessary for diagnosis and treatment, so many of our patient visits will continue to require in-person consultation. However, with approval from your specialist, some follow-up visits can transition to telehealth care if you choose. We understand that during these uncertain times patients may be weary about coming into the office. We are doing our best to accommodate your needs, address concerns and provide the best experience possible, in-person and online.

Here’s what you need to know about telemedicine at MSS:

  • Telemedicine appointments will be available to physicians from all of our locations.
  • Telemedicine is voluntary! Many follow-up visits that do not require removal or changes of casting, sutures etc. can be conducted via telemedicine if the patient chooses.
  • Patients are welcome to come into our offices for all appointments as long as they are comfortable doing so and can pass our COVID screening questionnaire.

As we continue to navigate through this pandemic, our offices will remain vigilant with our COVID precautions:

  • We ask that patients arrive to appointments alone whenever possible. Guests may be asked to wait in their vehicle.
  • Patients may also be asked to wait in their vehicles to reduce waiting room traffic.
  • All patients, visitors and staff are required to wear masks into our buildings and for the duration of the appointment.
  • All staff members are screened for COVID symptoms and exposure daily at the beginning of their shift.
  • Our physicians and staff wash their hands at the beginning and end of each appointment.
  • Exam room and waiting room surfaces are disinfected between every patient.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout each clinic for quick use.

We’re all in this together and MSS is here to help. Don’t let COVID-19 keep you from relieving your hand, shoulder, hip or knee pain. Contact your nearest office location to schedule an appointment with one of our fellowship trained specialists.
