John B. Ryan, M.D., FACS

Dr. John B. Ryan has been an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in Sports Medicine for over 35 years.

With over 35 years of international medical knowledge, Dr. John B. Ryan is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in Sports Medicine. In addition to his knowledge, compassion, and surgical expertise, Dr. Ryan is dedicated to providing his patients the best outcome for recovery and helping them regain optimal orthopedic performance. As a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army, Dr. Ryan still serves our country with his dedicated treatment of our soldiers.

Dr. Ryan has cared for professional, college, high school and recreational athletes. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Ryan received his undergraduate degree at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Letterman Army Medical Center, Presidio, of San Francisco, California.

He completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Hughston Orthopedic Clinic, Columbus, Georgia.

Dr. Ryan served as the Chief of Orthopedics at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York for seven years and during that time developed and directed the Army Sports Medicine fellowship.

Dr. Ryan participated in many clinical and basic science research projects and was chosen as the Commander of the U.S. Army Institute for Surgical Research in Texas.
